Double Vee Exports
Read this if you are planning to do business with
The following is my account with a company called Double
Vee Exports, New Delhi, India. They manufacture or claim
to manufacture products in brass, aluminium, silver, etc.
I have a business in the United Kingdom selling religious
articles. Mr Amit Singhal from Double Vee Exports
contacted me in 2009 and offered me his services. I was a
little sceptical but encouraged to use him by an associate of
his. This associate telephoned me personally, from the UK,
and praised Double Vee Exports. Words like integrity and
trust were used. I was also tempted by low prices. His
associate (let us call him Mr X) said he had been dealing
with him for about 20 years. His only interest with me was
to help promote DV Exports. Mr X said he was spending
about £300,000 a year with DV Exports.
Double Vee Exports were so charming
All seemed to go very well to begin with. I sent many
samples. I asked the question first “Will my samples be
confidential and never used for another customer”. Mr
Singhal explained that items made for me were strictly for
me and nobody else. He reiterated this point. He said that
any samples I sent would be kept for future reference or
returned. All communications with Amit Singhal were very
charming. I completely trusted him and his family business.
Samples made by Double Vee Exports were sent to me and
seemed OK. There were quality issues but the shapes
seemed quite good. I was assured that any quality issues
would be rectified before production.
£1000’S ordered & now sit in a warehouse
The orders arrived in fairly large quantities so not
everything was checked immediately. We started sending
out goods to customers and almost immediately complaints
began. Issues were that the items looked used, looked like
seconds, looked cheap, pieces were broken, pieces broke
easily, most silver plated pieces had scratches that could
not be polished out, items were out of shape - and so on.
We started picking items randomly from our warehouse and
unwrapping them. They all had issues. An example is that
one item had brass chains on it. The original sample made
by Double Vee Exports had very strong chains. I ordered
because of the sample made for me. The items sent had
very thin, flimsy chains that broke easily. The item is a
Thurible that is swung backwards and forwards in a church
with burning incense in it. A customer purchased a thurible
(made by Double Vee Exports) from me and the chains
snapped and their carpet was ruined in the process. They
are pursuing me for the costs.
We cannot and will not send out these goods to our
customers. There have been too many complaints. We
have lost so much business over this. 1000’s worth of
useless stock now sits in our warehouse.
Complaints to Double Vee Exports
I did complain to Amit Singhal on many occasions
regarding quality issues, my customer complaints, etc.
Response was normally words like “We try harder next
time”. I also travelled 6 hours by car to meet Amit (when he
came to the UK) and pass on my concerns and was met
with the same response. I asked him to refer to one of my
original samples in his possession and he had to admit that
he no longer had it! He only ever seemed concerned with
new orders and payment. On 2 occasions Double Vee
Exports tried to overcharge me by about $1000. Recently I
informed Amit Singhal that I could no longer trade with him
anymore and his response was did I still want goods that I
had on order.
Summary
Double Vee Exports did produce some pieces for me that
were quite good quality but these were few compared to
the poor quality. Double Vee Exports did commit copyright
theft by taking my image from my website. Their integrity is
questionable when they state that they never market other
customers projects and samples. They tried to overcharge
me on 2 separate occasions. They never returned any of
my samples and I would suspect they no longer have them.
I regret the day I did business with Double Vee Exports. Not
only did I lose a considerable amount of money I also lost
many valuable customers. I lost my reputation. I think the
moral of the story is buy closer to home!
To this day Double Vee Exports has not tried to rectify
any of the numerous faults with goods I purchased
from them. I have never been compensated for items
that are not fit for purpose.
Double Vee Exports Stole My Picture
The above is a screenshot from Alibaba.com. The image
is my copyright and has been taken from one of my
websites. It shows a product that Double Vee Exports
were making exclusively for me. The screenshot clearly
shows that they are marketing this product and that they
can produce 1000 pieces per month. They struggled to
make 100 pieces in 4 months. Double Vee Exports lied to
me and stole my copyrighted work.
DOUBLE VEE EXPORTS
The above video shows 2 cruets and a chalice. These are used
as part of a communion set. These sets are used by the Clergy
who visit people who are elderly, sick, near to death, etc. This is
so they can take Holy Communion. These sets are even used
on the battlefield. The first test shows how easily the water
flows from a vintage cruet. The second test shows a cruet made
for me by Double Vee Exports. See the problem. The sample I
sent to them was not like this. They sent me over 200 sets like
this and never replaced the faulty cruets! I received many
complaints over this.

Update
Recent complaints from my customers have
been that Items made by double vee exports
have literally fallen apart in their hands. This
mainly relates to a brass chalice. I have had 7
complaints that the chalice has broken in 2
pieces and all they did was pick it up!
Apparently double vee exports is not very
pleased about this site. Well let me tell you Mr
Singhall - I am not very happy about the crap
you sold me!!!
